I head up the biotechnology and life sciences team in London and Cambridge. I work across biologics and small-molecule pharmaceuticals, with a particular focus on therapeutic antibodies.

My current role sits in an advisory capacity, offering high level strategic advice to large pharmaceutical companies. I typically work with clients’ in-house teams of patent lawyers at the latter stages of the patents process, such as when the drug is already in clinical trials, to consult on bringing the product to market.

The other main focus of my practice is on post-grant opposition and appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office. I enjoy the technical challenge of drawing on my science background while also meeting the legal challenge of advising during proceedings owing to the inherent complexity of the biotech field.

I’ve also been fortunate enough to work with start-up companies right from when they were first set up through to having their first products approved. Advising them all the way through the patent process from creation to approval is always hugely rewarding.

My team and I work with colleagues in both London and Cambridge across the biotech space. Having such collaboration in place is especially important for larger pharma companies and enables us to cover their requirements seamlessly. We are very commercial as a firm and always take pride in providing high quality work, legally and technically, with expertise that our clients value.
