I represent clients from start-ups to household name multinationals in sectors that range from consumer electronics to heavy machinery, from MedTech to GreenTech.
I love variety, so it suits me well to be working with clients large and small on a wide range of technologies. In recent years, I have supported various start-up MedTech and GreenTech clients that are relatively small, dynamic, and rapidly growing. Securing strong patent protection is vital to demonstrating value. It is a key milestone in the journey to investment that is so often vital to enable a successful technology launch. I find it rewarding to play a key role in making that possible.
Developing deep and lasting relationships with my clients is key to my approach. This makes me better able to anticipate a client’s needs and to provide broad strategic advice, in addition to working on specific patents applications and projects.
I take a pragmatic and commercially-focused approach to advising on intellectual property matters. IP is a vital cog in the machine of any business and understanding how it interacts with the other components in a client’s business means there is always scope to add value through our work. I regularly assist both technology clients and investor clients to assess risks as part of the broader commercial picture.
I enjoy advocacy in oral proceedings, and have represented some of the world’s most well-known enterprises, defending their patents and opposing their competitors’.
“I love having a variety of clients, technologies and legal problems … and developing deep and lasting relationships with them.”
Expanding the portfolio of a start-up company in the sustainable transport sector from one to ten families within 12 months.
Using patents and designs to stop multiple infringers of a client’s IP in multiple European jurisdictions, all without the cost and uncertainty of litigation.
Providing due diligence advice to a venture capital firm in relation to patent risks and strengths on a sizeable investment in the MedTech sector.
