Henning Erb is a German Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney and European Trade Mark and Design Attorney. He has extensive experience in advising small and medium-sized companies, as well as international corporations, across the field of intellectual property. Henning is a part of both our Trade Mark and Domain Names Group and our Engineering and Designs Group.

Prior to joining the Boult Wade Tennant’s partnership Henning was involved with various intellectual property law firms in the Frankfurt area. He has worked with a number of his clients for over 10 years, which is testimony to his creative IP problem solving and excellent client service.

Henning splits his time between our Frankfurt and Berlin offices.

He is a member of various associations in the field of IP, such as INTA, AIPPI or GRUR. He regularly attends their events. Henning speaks fluent German and English.

Trade Mark Practice
With over 25 years of practice in the field of trade marks, he has advised clients on the registration and enforcement of their trade marks and provided strategic support in the development of trade mark portfolios.

Henning has broad and extensive experience of proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the Federal Patent Court and the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). In addition, he has been involved in a variety of procedures for the enforcement of property rights against third parties, as well as the defence of claims by third parties.

Patent practice
Henning is also a partner in our Engineering and Designs Group. He has many years’ experience in private practice, specialising in bionical devices, medical devices, automotive industry and Mechanical engineering industry.

Henning’s practice areas include: ultrasonic clearing technology, robotics, fastening technology, recycling and waste management, special engineering technology, sun protection devices, general advice for contentious matters as well as patent litigation. He has experience working with start-ups, consulting with them on developing IP strategies and portfolio management.

Beside his patent work at the German and the European Patent Office, Henning also has experience in supporting clients in litigation matters.
