Recent experience

Managing a complex global trade mark assignment programme for a large publishing client in relation to consolidation of various publishing divisions prior to sale and restructure. This involved transfers of trade mark ownership within the UK and internationally; various due diligence exercises prior to sale; and engagement with the new owner’s representatives following acquisition for the transfer of acquired rights.

Ongoing management of global trade mark portfolio for a household name in the interactive entertainment sector. This includes managing its vast global trade mark portfolio (pre-filing advice, filing, prosecution and opposition internationally), providing strategic advice in the acquisition of new rights, enforcement of rights around the world through oppositions and conflict resolution with third parties.

Ongoing strategic advice and management of multi territorial opposition actions – some ongoing – for a household name in the interactive entertainment sector in relation to its flagship and iconic video games franchise. These have been long running opposition actions, some of which have culminated in hearings before the General Court of the European Union.
